Thomas Müller World Cup Goals (1/10)

Thomas Müller of Germany is the youngest player (he’s only 24) in history to score the impressive number of 10 goals in World Cups (2010 and 2014). Here’s the goal that started it all: Müller scored Germany’s third goal against Australia (their first group match of the tournament) in Durban Stadium, South Africa, 13.06.2010.

5. Thomas Muller

Thomas Muller makes the top five of the Goal 50 for the second year on the spin after enjoying the best goalscoring season of his career – establishing himself as the game’s most prolific attacking midfielder.

The 24-year-old struck 26 times in all competitions for Bayern as they enjoyed another trophy-laden season, securing the Bundesliga before the end of March as well as the Uefa Super Cup, Club World Cup and DFB-Pokal. Muller scored in the final of the latter against Dortmund.

The 2013 Champions League winner also continued his superb World Cup career, scoring five goals in Brazil as Germany won the trophy. This included the opener in the historic 7-1 thumping of the hosts in the semi-finals.

He took his tally of World Cup finals goals to 10 and given his age looks like a good bet to break the all-time scoring record in the competition. Muller’s intelligent movement, lung-busting stamina and clinical finishing are perhaps unrivalled today. The Goal 50 should be graced by his presence for many seasons to come.
